And indeed there were some people who swallowed the line that transferring jobs to Castle Bromwich and Gaydon represented a sugar- coated pil.

Anti-social behaviour is a plague on too many communities across the country today. In some parts of the Midlands, residents complain of encountering loutish and aggressive behaviour at their local shopping centre, or simply outside their home, during the day. The fact that he was able to bring items such as batteries, wire, a timer and modelling clay into the complex will not be a surprise to those who have experience of how Parliament's security works. People who are allocated a full pass are not checked or searched as they walk...

It comes as no surprise then that the Norfolk city has topped the charts in a survey to answer the question football fans have been asking for years - who ate all the pies? Birmingham's home-grown dish might be the balti, but we'll admit it's hard to top a good steak and kidney pie.
