Selfridges Femme Fatale Evening
Selfridges Birmingham turned up the glamour and offered a night of indulgence for customers at their Femme Fatale Beauty Evening. With pampering treatments, makeovers and hair styling, it was a night of luxury, with the emphasis on how to become completely gorgeous.
Pictures, George Archer Captains of industry from across the West Midlands gathered at the Edmund Street offices of Clarke Willmott Birmingham to hear Vernon Everitt, director of retail themes with the Financial Services Authority, outline plans to raise the financial literacy of the UK workforce.
Birmingham City Centre's Metro Bar on Cornwall Street was the venue for the West Midlands Office Agents Society's charity drinks evening - one of a number of annual fund-raising events in support of fund-raising the charity "Well Child". The evening also featured committee members offering a helping hand to the staff behind the bar.
Commercial property investors and auctioneers Bond Wolfe held a dinner for some of the Black Country's leading residential property agents at their head office in West Plaza, West Bromwich. Associate partner James Mattin welcomed guests and discussed Bond Wolfe's growing auctioneering business and how agents in the region can team up with Bond Wolfe.
Compton Hospice Fund-Raising Event
Ruth Badger tested out her straight-talking advice on Midlands' businesswomen. Before embarking on her new Sky One show, The Big Idea, Ruth visited her home town to speak at a networking event at Patshull Park Hotel, to help female entrepreneurs of the region.
Averta Employment Lawyers Party
Averta Employment Lawyers, a specialist practice focusing on the legal needs of senior executives and professionals, celebrated its second year at a drinks reception at the Hotel du Vin. Around 90 guests from most aspects of professional and corporate life in the Midlands attended the event, many of whom were partners at law firms who refer senior individuals to Averta.
Pinsent Masons Property View Conference
More than 100 representatives from the region's property development and construction sector attended the second Pinsent Masons property view conference at the ICC, Birmingham. The keynote speaker was Rupert Young of Donaldsons who enlightened delegates on the future of the property investment market in the Midlands.
More than 150 guests attended Bucknall Austin's celebratory party held at the Metro Bar. The company has seen a turnover increase by 18 per cent in their third year since reforming as Bucknall Austin in 2003.
The West Midlands Business Classic, hosted by Lord Taverners and sponsored by Ernst & Young, has raised more than pounds 8,000 for good causes. This year's fund-raiser was supported by teams from across the business community in Birmingham, including Ernst & Young, Wragge & Co, Barclays, Bank of Scotland, Mott McDonald and Royal Bank of Scotland.
A preview took place at Compton Verney for two new exhibitions, Vive la Parisienne: Women through the Eyes of the Impressionists, and Richard Billingham: Zoo. It was attended by local dignitaries, art world luminaries and art students both from the region and London.
Developers Birmingham Development Company (BDC) invited potential purchasers to view plans for the apartments, offices, shops, hotel, waterside cafes and rooftop restaurant which will be housed in The Cube. More then 130 guests were greeted by futuristic mime artists as they came to see the new marketing suite and heard Ken Shuttleworth and Paul Scott from Make Architects give a presentation about the scheme's distinctive features.
