Music group EMI could axe up to 2,000 jobs this week under costcutting plans from its new private equity owner, it was claimed yesterday.

Terra Firma, which bought EMI for pounds 3.2 billion last summer, will unveil the cuts - equivalent to one in three of the firm's workforce - in plans to revive the business on Tuesday, according to the Sunday Telegraph.
