Cheltenham Art Gallery & Museum has acquired an important painting by the Venetian artist Francesco Guardi (1712-1793) through the Government's tax concession scheme.
Isola di San Giorgio in Alga, Venice was accepted by the Government in lieu of inheritance tax and allocated to the museum. It formerly belonged to a Gloucestershire man who particularly wished that it should remain in his home county.See the full content of this document
