Obtaining reliable statistics for oil production is difficult. Underlying the problem is the fact that there are different types of oil. Types of oil may be priced in reference to a particular type of oil such as West Texas Intermediate or Brent, but they are not equivalent when measured in the normal measure of a barrell.
