Midland-based Aggregate Industries has purchased the remaining 50 per cent share of its Norwegian joint venture Halsvik Aggregates. Aggregate Industries said it would mean significant investment in Norway including additional production capacity and more job opportunities - the company currently employs more than 30 people - benefiting the local Gulen and Kvalsund communities north of Bergen. Part of Holcim, AI said the move would "significantly strengthen" its position in the export aggregates market.
