Troubled plane maker Airbus yesterday said it will be cutting around 1,600 jobs in the UK over the next four years under long- awaited restructuring plans.
The firm - a major source of work for aerospace component manufacturers in the West Midlands - said some 10,000 jobs will be cut across its 16 European sites, with those in France and Germany being hardest hit.
