Engineering and project management group AMEC (AMEC) reported "excellent progress" yesterday, buoyed by strong end markets and trading performance.

The group, which has operations in the Midlands, said its level of confidence for the year had increased and it had raised its 2008 group EBITA margin expectation to 6.5 per cent, up from the target of six per cent announced in December 2006.
