Some farmers could be facing ruin after one of the hardest winters in living memory, said Bob Wright, Midland regional information officer for the NFU. The weather has cut the yield of spring vegetables drastically and with hay and feed costs rising as stocks run low, shoppers could soon be facing much higher prices for other farm produce he warned.
