During June, the Orchestra of the Swan will not be presenting its newly-commissioned community opera, Extraordinary Lives at Coventry's Old Fire Station. At the historic St Mary's Hall, Tribal Soul will not be hosting the Royal Shakespeare Company in a performance of Henry VI, Part I . Similarly, Snarling Beasties will not stage their spectacular production of King Kong on the roof of the Skydome Arena.

Among other innovative events not taking place in Coventry during this month will be theatre director Kathi Leahy's spectacle Love Amongst the Orchards in the West Orchard Shopping Centre and internationallyacclaimed Coventry theatre group Theatre Absolute staging a new show, Quiet Riot at the medieval City Gate in Cook Street. These are just some of the 18 events in venues dotted around the city centre which make up The Virtual Fringe, an imaginary arts festival devised by innovative Coventry arts co-operative Talking Birds and featuring colleagues from in and around the city.
