The recent flood of corporate results will slow to a trickle this week, with Balfour Beatty and Inter Continental Hotels among the few firms due to report.
The UK's biggest construction firm, Balfour Beatty - whose West Midland private finance initiative projects include Birmingham's pounds 530 million "super hospital" - has seen strong trading in the first half of the year.
