Members of the Bank of England's monetary policy committee talked of injecting an extra pounds 75 billion of "printed" money into the economy to curb the recession before settling unanimously on a pounds 50 billion increase early this month.
The pounds 75 billion would have committed the full pounds 150 billion authorised by chancellor Alistair Darling, leaving the committee with no elbow room for a further boost in future months.See the full content of this document
