Warwickshire are taking their strongest available side to Fenner's today to contest a three-day game with Cambridge UCCE. While these games are often used as an opportunity for fringe members of the side, Warwickshire's coach John Inverarity has decided that his team is lacking competitive cricket and wants them in peak form before the next important game.
'We haven't had much cricket yet,' Inverarity reasoned. 'The Middlesex game was mauled by rain and I want our best side to get a bit more cricket. I know the pitch is usually pretty good at Fenner's, and it should be a good opportunity to find a bit of form.' Reflecting on the Middlesex match, Inverarity said: 'I thought a few of our guys batted really well for a while but I was disappointed that we were bowled out in 70-odd overs.
