One of the major planks of the City of Culture bid is an ambitious new Autumn Festival aimed at giving Birmingham the kind of enhanced cultural profile achieved by the Manchester International Festival over the last few years.
The plan is to launch the festival - which would become an annual event - in the autumn of 2013.
