Numbers of one of Britain's rarest birds, the bittern, have increased this year, with newly-created habitats helping it fight back against the threat of climate change, the RSPB said yesterday.
The bird - known for its "booming" call - is this year nesting in more sites than any year since 1990 and has been found in the East Anglian Fens for the first time since before the Second World War.See the full content of this document
