Dear Editor, It is Richard Burden's letter in the Post (July 15) that is bizarre. My letter, which he obviously has not read properly, clearly states that Centro has set up an all party Longbridge Working Group (of Centro members) to look at the public transport vision for Longbridge and Frankley. I repeat, the Birmingham Labour representative's attendance record on this group is woeful. Does Richard Burden not speak to Birmingham Labour councillors? More bizarre is the fact that he criticises the Longbridge public transport interchange as "cosmetic changes" as part of the Longbridge AAP which the Government Inspector has concluded was "sound and viable" and who has expressed no reservations about this proposed interchange.
Finally, does he not realise that the success of a the Longbridge AAP depends on people from all over Birmingham being able to easily commute to Longbridge, especially via public transport and the reopening of the Camp Hill line is just one such public transport improvement to enable this to happen.See the full content of this document
