British Summer Good for Boredom-Busting Goods, Says Happy Dsg ; Retail

Currys owner DSG International said yesterday that the miserable British summer had helped boost sales of boredom-busting goods such as flat screen televisions and laptops.

Like-for-like sales rose by six per cent during the 16 weeks to August 18 - ahead of analysts' expectations of four per cent - despite tough comparatives with last year driven by the football World Cup.
