Outsourcing company Capita Group said it performed strongly in the first four months and believes its prospects for the current year and thereafter remain strong.

The company, which is working on a major joint venture with Birmingham City Council designed to streamline the authority's ICT operation and save hundreds of millions of pounds, said it had secured pounds 384 million worth of contracts and renewals in the year to date and that its bid pipeline stood at pounds 2.5 billion at the end of February.
