Delirious. That was the word Dr Tom Hosty, head of English at King Edward's School in Birmingham, had to reach for to sum up the achievements.
It's been a record year for the school, with 27 Top Candidate Awards achieved by 17 boys in this year's GCSEs. It's the school's best-ever tally and believed to be a national best. The awards are given to pupils achieving one of the top five marks in each exam and fewer than 100 are usually awarded nationally in each subject.See the full content of this document
