The 157th Waterloo Cup got under way yesterday with a stand-off between animal rights protesters and supporters of the event.
Around 150 protesters traded insults with the crowd in an hour- long protest at the UK's largest hare coursing event in west Lancashire. More than 100 police officers separated the two sides who took up standpoints on either side of a barbed wire fence at the course.See the full content of this document
