This month is a busy one for Warwickshire Chess. The association's AGM is on Wednesday June 16. It starts at 8pm at the Peugeot Social Club, Humber Road, Coventry. It is hoped that there will be a good attendance since there are many opportunities for enthusiastic organisers to assist the association in planning its future activities.

The AGM of the Midland Counties Union is on Sunday June 20 at the Church Hall, Lower Church Street, Syston, Leicestershire commencing at 2.30pm The Birmingham & District League's AGM witnessed two records. The retiring president Pauline Woodward (Warley Quinborne) is the first lady ever to have held the post. She was succeeded by John Crump, the popular son of Tony Crump. It is the first time that the son of a former president has been elected to the post. It became clear at Birmingham's AGM that the league has many plans for the coming season. One idea is to organise matches with other leagues.
