A Birmingham residential rehabilitation hostel for people with mental illness is facing closure.
Social services officials say they can no longer afford to find pounds 663,000 a year to run the Rowans in Small Heath. The future of the hostel, which has beds for 12 people, has been in doubt since 2004 following the withdrawal of Government funding. The Supporting People initiative originally paid pounds 887 per bed per week, but the figure has been reduced to pounds 250.See the full content of this document
