The smirking faces of the boys who taunted wallabies at Dudley Zoo until two animals literally died of shock must have sickened all those who had the misfortune to investigate such a barbaric act of cruelty.
The trio -two aged 11 and one ten-year-old -laughed and joked with police officers when describing how they broke into the zoo at night on a mission to terrify and taunt. Sickeningly, they described their behaviour as 'fun'. There was not the slightest hint of remorse either when the boys left Dudley Youth Court yesterday after receiving 12-month referral orders -the judicial equivalent of a slap on the wrists.
