The party conference season may be the highlight of the year for political anoraks but it's a complete turn-off for most people, according to a poll published yesterday.

Research for politics website ePolitix.com found that 76 per cent of people have little or no interest in the annual shindigs. Just 14 per cent find them fairly interesting and a mere two per cent are gripped.
