Without sounding sexist, all my previous girlfriends have mercilessly frog marched me to a range of shops and shopping centres. Even now I can the recall the numerous arguments we've had with my arms loaded with plastic bags whilst other shoppers have looked with a familiar nonchalance as if to say 'we've all been there, mate but hey, what can you do?' On several occasions I have actually felt annoyance and nauseous simultaneously.
So you can imagine how pleased I was to learn that this Saturday is anti-consumer day. We're asked - just for 24 hours - not to buy anything but to pause and reflect on the indecent amount of money we spend on food, clothing and numerous other retail products.
