Summary
It's generally acknowledged these days that Christmas as we know it was invented by Charles Dickens. As part of the creation of the festival (largely achieved by his book A Christmas Carol) the writer gave a reading from said novel at Birmingham Town Hall in December 1851.
Now the event is to be celebrated with a similar reading. It's happening on Thursday at the Edwardian Tea Rooms at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.See the full content of this document
