Dell posted a surge in annual profits after enjoying its best ever operating quarter.
The world's second largest PC maker said net profits rose 25 per cent to $2.65 billion (pounds 1.4 billion) in 2003 -helped by a strong fourth quarter in which it saw record product shipments, revenue, profits and earnings per share.
