Sometimes, I wonder whatever happened to the gentle art of directing. Not that I know anything about directing. Seek to saddle me with responsibility for a production, and I shall make my excuses and leave.
On the other hand, the simple act of sitting and watching something unfold on stage has revealed all sorts of things that should never have happened.
