Jimmy Quinn, the man who steered Shrewsbury Town back into the Football League at the first attempt back in May, has opted to carry the can for his side's poor start to the season.

With his side bottom of the league, the 44-year-old former Northern Ireland striker yesterday resigned - just 17 months after taking over from Kevin Ratcliffe following Shrewsbury's relegation to the Conference.
