Does money bring happiness? Put like that it's a question that artists and philosophers have grappled with endlessly. In the age of red top journalism and Big Brother it's implied in a phrase we must all have secretly asked ourselves at some time - what would you do if you won the Lottery?
Jean and Morris (Delyth Jones and Chris Connolly) start off John Godber's rather slight piece asking themselves the question as they sit watching Blind Date waiting to check their numbers. By the end the age-old answer of the morality play has duly been trotted out - yes, the bluebird of happiness is always in your own backyard. But while such a trite message may be quite entertaining wrapped up in great song and dance numbers (thank you Judy Garland, thank you the Rep's Christmas show) presented here as a cross between a sitcom and a Greek tragedy it's rather less palatable.See the full content of this document
