The late Easter gave a much-needed fillip to last month's retail sales, returning them to positive territory for the first time since February last year.
The CBI April distributive trades survey showed 38 per cent of retailers saying sales volumes were ahead of April last year, while 36 per cent reported a fall. The resulting positive balance of two per cent followed three months of declines.See the full content of this document
