Prosecution lawyers will seek a retrial of the infamous 'Essex Boys' murder case if the two men convicted of the killings win their appeals, a judge has been told.

Opposing applications by Jack Whomes and Michael Steele to be freed on bail pending the appeal hearing next January, John Dodd said the prosecution would 'strenuously' contest their allegations of a police cover-up in relation to the reliability of a key witness, supergrass Darren Nicholls.
