Herefordshire crisp maker Tyrrells has been sold to private equity firm Langholm Capital, netting farmer Will Chase - who founded the business six years ago - around pounds 30 million.

The deal, which values Tyrrells at about pounds 40 million, is thought to reflect increasing consumer demand for healthier snacks.
