Private landlords could get a pounds 1,500 grant to improve fire safety in their properties in a new scheme launched by West Midlands Fire Service and Walsall Council.
In the first project of its kind, the council and fire service are launching a scheme for multiple occupancy properties. The aim is to provide alternatives to traditional methods of fire safety by encouraging landlords to install domestic sprinkler systems. Sprinkler systems can can significantly enhance fire safety but they cost between pounds 1,700 and pounds 2,700 for a three-bedroom terraced house with three or four occupants.See the full content of this document
