It's not often that a large city gets the chance to expose its cultural heart, so the UK City of Culture bid is an obvious opportunity for Birmingham to shine. It's awarded on a four yearly basis - the key date being 2013 - and thanks to some hard work and Birmingham's varied cultural diversity, we're now down to The theme of our bid is 'Big City status as a major cultural centre, but also our 'big heart' and the inclusive diversity of our population.
