A schoolgirl put Staffordshire's new GP out of hours service to the test when she contracted a rare and potentially deadly disease which had not been diagnosed by doctors.

Chloe Tomlinson, aged eight, complained to her parents Joanne and David that she had a sore throat on March 1 this year, and spent the day at home in Drayton Bassett, Tamworth, instead of going to school.
