For all of those years, Industry Forum has had as its chief executive Graham Broome, aged 50, an engineer who learned his trade at Longbridge alongside the first wave of Japanese engineers who came to the West Midlands as part of Honda's 1970s collaboration with British Leyland that produced the first generation Rover 200 and later the 600.
