A Staffordshire church yesterday offered prayers for an 82-year- old woman whose grave is suspected of being desecrated by animals rights activists.
As a police cordon remained around the grave of Gladys Hammond at St Peter's Church in the village of Yoxall, the church vicar the Rev Jenny Lister spoke of the disbelief and revulsion felt by parishioners. Ms Lister opened up a book of condolences for Mrs Hammond, who was buried in the churchyard seven years ago, and offered prayers for her relatives.See the full content of this document
