Historic Canal Link Gets a Pounds 3m Boost

Summary


Ambitious plans to restore one of the UK's earliest canals were given the go ahead yesterday after the project secured regional development agency funding worth pounds 3 million.

The pounds 11 million scheme will reopen a historic link between the River Severn and the Worcester and Birmingham Canal and includes plans to build a new 1,000-metre stretch of waterway near Droitwich, Worcs.
