An historic Birmingham dairy is facing closure, following the completion of a pounds 20 million takeover of Midlands Co-op Dairies.

The Vauxhall dairy, east of the city centre, which produces 200 million litres of milk a year and employs about 330 staff, will be closed in 'due course', new owner Dairy Crest said yesterday .
