Following the cold snap recently, I was pleasantly surprised a few days ago to step out of my front door to a milder breeze, full of the promise of spring.
As I continued my walk along the Rea Valley, I couldn't help but notice a hive of activity and an orchestra of song from robins, blue tits, starlings and house sparrows. Of course, the increased presence of birdsong and activity at this time of year means only one thing - it is getting close to the breeding season and birds will shortly be on the look-out for suitable places to nest.See the full content of this document
