Hospital's Errors Led to Babies Deaths, Says Report

The parents of a baby who died following a catalogue of hospital errors are to take legal action as a damning report found failings led to two other deaths. The maternity unit at Wolverhampton's New Cross Hospital was condemned for poor team work, weak management and leadership and 'impoverished' standards of care after three healthy babies died within months of each other last year.

An investigation by health watchdogs The Healthcare Commission highlighted a host of shortcomings at the hospital as it emerged another baby death was the subject of a separate internal investigation at the trust.
