Hospital trusts in the Midlands last night said a planned strike by NHS delivery staff next week would have no effect on patient care.
Many trusts have ordered extra supplies after NHS Logistics - which delivers everything from cereals to life-saving drugs to hospitals and GP surgeries - confirmed workers at five depots would stage a 24-hour walkout on Thursday.
