Summary
Midland hospitals appear to be winning the war against superbugs MRSA and Clostridium difficile (C diff), according to the latest figures released by the Health Protection Agency yesterday.
All 19 acute trusts in the West Midlands reported a drop in new MRSA cases, with 184 reported between October and December 2006, and 137 during the same period last year. Most of the region's hospitals reported a reduction in new C diff cases, from 1,725 diagnosed between October to December 2006, to 1,202 during the same period in 2007.See the full content of this document
