England's selectors announce the squad tomorrow morning for Thursday's first Test match against New Zealand at Lord's and the only two places up for discussion at today's meeting concern Nasser Hussain and Warwickshire's Ashley Giles. Both look likely to be named, which means only one change from the team which drew the Brian Lara recordbreaking Test in Antigua a month ago.

Hussain and the left-arm orthodox spinner are centrally contracted and, all other things being equal, have an inbuilt advantage with a managementwhich is reluctant to be accused of wasting money when awarding the prized contracts.
