Increase in Occupier Demand Expected

Demand for commercial property is lagging behind the marked increase in business confidence - now at its highest level since 1966 - according to a new report from the CBI and property advisers GVA Grimley.

Malcolm Gloster, regional senior partner at the Birmingham office of GVA Grimley, said yesterday: 'A huge upswing in business optimism and strong employment growth expected over the next six months should significantly increase occupier demand for property but there will be the inevitable time lag before that happens.
