Summary


Although Ron Perlman has flaunted his giant-like physique in film, television and stage for more than three decades, chances are few people know what he looks like. That's because he's spent most of time either doing animation voice overs, appearing in little seen movies or with his face hidden behind make-up.

Indeed, he's probably best known for the critically acclaimed 1980's TV series Beauty in the Beast in which he co-starred with Linda Hamilton as a rather offbeat pair of crusading investigators. The series ran for three years and earned him a Golden Globe for Best Actor. It's ironic then that the biggest profile he's had since then comes with a film in which his features are once more disguised behind prosthetics. A supernatural action-adventure based on Mike Mignola's acclaimed comic books, Hellboy stars Perlman as a demon super-hero, brought to Earth by Rasputin during WWII , rescued by the Allies and raised to become an unlikely champion of good fighting paranormal threats as part of a clandestine agency.
