Summary
An inquiry into Birmingham City Council's children's social care department is set to deliver its verdict later today. The inquiry, headed by City Councillor Len Clark, was launched after Ofsted had branded the council's ability to keep children safe as 'inadequate'.
It also emerged in January that eight children known to council social workers had died in the previous four years. Government advisors were drafted in to help run the department.See the full content of this document
