Irish Exempt From Livestock Ban

Summary


The European Union agreed yesterday that Britain should remain a "high-risk zone" and that a meat and livestock import and export ban should stay in place until at least August 25.

A meeting of its Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health voted unanimously to uphold the measures agreed by the EU Commission on Monday.
