Summary
In the last year, there has been a significant increase in the number of British children abducted by a parent and taken overseas. Foreign Office figures confirm that there were 213 reported cases of parental abduction in 2010, with the majority of cases taking place in August, whereby a parent has refused to return a child following a holiday abroad.
